About Manga Librarian

My goal is to help school librarians in the US understand the mediums of manga, manhwa, light novels, and anime a little better and make more educated purchasing and programming decisions. This came after several of my peers asked me to do something along these lines, because they felt various levels of anxiety and confusion as non-readers of manga.

The goal of this blog is to provide information. My reviews are tailored to give as much information about the texts as possible to inform the decisions librarians make. Every library, school, and district has its own unique quirks.

Reviews on this site will have spoilers, as they are intended to help librarians make the best possible purchasing decisions. Not all readers of my blog are manga readers, and I intend to keep them fully informed. If you are a reader and do not want spoilers, please keep this in mind!

That said, if you are in a particularly sensitive community, my reviews are still only a guideline, and you should still utilize your own professional judgment about grade/age level relevance in accordance with your community and collection development policy. If you ever need more specific information, never hesitate to reach out or leave a comment.
